Ronald Schoof

Ronald A. Schoof, 81, of Shaftsbury, VT passed away on March 21, 2026, at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation

in Bennington, VT. Ronald was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 17, 1944, the son of Adolph and Margaret (Mahoney) Schoof. He married Jeri Lucerino on June 13, 1970, in Selden, Long Island New York.

Ronald served in the United States Navy from 1965-1968. After serving in the Navy, Ronald worked for several different communications companies, and ultimately opened and operated a communications installation and repair business. He enjoyed going to auctions and then selling his purchases on e-bay. Ronald was an avid genealogist. He enjoyed ice fishing, boating and golfing.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Jeri Schoof, of Shaftsbury and cousins: Barbara Benson (Eric) Palazzo, James Benson, Craig Vogel, Brad Vogel and Patricia O’Connor Benson (James Benson deceased) and their respective families. In addition he is survived by the many wonderful friends he has made in Vermont. He is also survived by his toy poodle Monet who will miss the many hours of quality chest rubbing Ronald provided daily,

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, VT on Thursday March 26, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow the mass at 1:30 PM at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York.
