Raymond Francis Marsocci died while resting in his Vermont home on February 18th, 2026. His wife, Elaina, was next to him - how they had lived for almost 66 years, as a strong, loving, complementary team.
Born March 11th, 1942, in West Warwick, Rhode Island, Ray was the fourth of five children to an Italian immigrant couple. He grew up a three-sport letterman athlete, then married Elaina née DiMartino on March 12th, 1960, as both were finishing high school, and together parented a son and two daughters, so reserving his greatest years for his role as husband, father, and community asset. After taking an early retirement following over 30 years of service to New England Telephone, he continued to work by driving seniors in Florida, and taking care of the grounds at Hildene in Vermont. He was named to the West Warwick Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
Ray is survived by his wife, Elaina, his children, Ray and Mara, his grandchildren, Alexander Florez (Michelle Florez) and Mackenzie Marsocci, and his three great-grandchildren, Mia, Zoe, and Niko. He was predeceased by his daughter Melissa Florez.
