Marvin Lewis Loveland

Marvin Lewis Loveland, 91 of Bennington, Vermont, passed away on August 22, 2026 at The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, New York. Marvin was born in Shaftsbury, Vermont on May 31, 1935, the son of Fred and Bessie (Bump) Loveland. He married Barbara Mae Griggs in Arlington, Vermont on September 19, 1959.

Marvin was a member of the Vermont National Guard from 1955-1963. He began his working career with Joe Beaudoin Blacktop in 1960. Marvin then opened Loveland Construction which he owned and operated for many many years. After retiring from his construction business Marvin kept busy tinkering with his vehicles and building things in his garage.

Marvin is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Barbara Loveland, of Bennington, VT, his children; Richard (Mary Lanlois) Loveland, Donald Loveland, Michael (Sally) Loveland and Tracy (Jeff Colegrove) Rowlands. Marvin was predeceased by an infant daughter, Diane Marie Loveland, and his 13 siblings, including his twin sister, Mary Lou Dury.

A private graveside service will be held for the family. A Celebration of Marvin's Life will be held at a later, to be announced, date.
