Judith Edwards, 94, resident of Bennington, VT passed away on July 10, 2026.
She was born in New Haven, CT on January 9, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Rongyos) Guy. Judith received her education in CT and was a graduate of Hill House High School in New Haven, CT. She later graduated from Larsen Junior College in Hamden with an Associate’s Degree in Merchandising.
She married Henry Edwards II in January of 1954 at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Haven, CT. Mr. Edwards died on December 14, 2005.
For many years Judith was employed at Woolworth’s in Bennington and for three years owned and operated the Dunkin Donuts in Bennington. She also drove the bus for the Senior Center in Bennington and more recently volunteered at the Senior Center.
Survivors include five children: Nordica Scholis (Tom) of Hoosick Falls, NY, Jennifer Edwards (Chris) of Staten Island, NY, Cynthia Leonard of Horse Heads, NY, Sarah Ota (Kevin) of Reading, CT, and Henry Edwards III of Bennington, VT. Her son-in-law David Turcotte of West Haven, CT. Her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her brother Samuel Guy of Hampden, CT.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth (Edwards) Turcotte. Her siblings, Robert Guy and Nancy Loeffel.
Judith’s greatest joys in her life were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren to be. She had learned so much from them. In her own words, “Yes, there is hope for humanity.”
At Mrs. Edwards’ request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
