John Richard Hurley II, 67, a resident of Bennington, VT., passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was born in Bennington, VT on June 17, 1958. He was the son of the late John Hurley I and Doreen Gorman.
John was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and simply being outside. He also had a passion for driving. A dedicated member of AA, he was extremely proud of his 30 years of sobriety, which was a very important part of his life. He was also a member of the Masons, among other clubs.
John is survived by his two daughters, Tiffany Hurley and Lauren-Ashley Whitman. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Skylar Liimatainen, Nikita Cross, Jaymie-Lee Jones, Liam Cascione, Leon-Andrew, and Phelix. John is remembered by his sisters, Lisa Eash and Kathy Gorman, and his brother, Derrick Hurley. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, John Hurley I and Doreen Gorman, and his sister, Jackie Crawford.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of John's life on June 20, 2026, at Willow Park. This will be a potluck gathering, and guests are welcome to bring a dish to share if they wish.
