Frank Scott York

Scott York, 77 of Sunderland, Vt., previously of Bradley Beach, NJ died on August 14, 2026 in his home, with his wife Colleen, and close and loving friends with him.


Scott was known for his vibrancy and athleticism - a great cyclist, walker/runner, surf skier, lifeguard, surfer and a loving husband and a great brother and friend to all who knew him. Scott was a founding member of the Greens Pond Harriers cross country team, a sport he enjoyed immensely! He was known for his generosity and kindness to others. Scott was a land surveyor for 20 years before switching careers to education where he taught Special Education for 20 years.


Scott was married to Colleen for 52 wonderful years. He is the love of her life. They spent many fun times riding their tandem bicycle through the hills and valleys of Vermont. Scott loved gardening and the outdoors. One of his favorite sayings was “if it’s not fun, best to be left undone.” Scott is survived by his wife, Colleen, his brothers Jeff York and Casey York and his many loving in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Following Scott’s wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life and paddle out will be scheduled at a later date.
