Clayton J. Hayes, 81 of Sandgate, VT, passed away on February 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Clayton was born in Pawlet, VT on September 12, 1943, the son of Charles and Nellie (Morey) Hayes.
Clayton is survived by his twin brother, Clinton J. Hayes of Sandgate, VT, a brother, August Smith, several nieces, nephews, a great niece and great nephews.
A memorial service is pending and will be announced at a later date.
