Adelaide M. Talbot, formerly of Bard Road in Bennington, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026. She was 103 years old.
Born in Farmingdale, New York, on September 2, 1922, Adelaide was the daughter of John and Christina (Scholl) Talbot. She was educated in Farmingdale and graduated from Farmingdale High School with the Class of 1940.
Following graduation, Adelaide began her career at Grumman Aircraft in Bethpage, New York, where she worked as a clerk from 1942 until 1964. That same year, she relocated to Bennington, where she was employed by Polygraphic in North Bennington and later by Tansitor. She retired in 1985 after many years of dedicated service.
Adelaide was a faithful member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including working crossword puzzles, crocheting, embroidering, taking walks, and roller skating.
Adelaide is survived by her grandniece, Julie (Bard) Boehm; her nephew, David Bard; and several nieces, nephews, grandnephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, John E. Talbot, and her sister, Edwina Talbot Bard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church in Bennington. Interment will follow in the family lot at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
